Adventist Missions

Missions in the Adventist Church plays a very great role and one of the things each church uses to promote missions in Sabbath School is the Mission Quarterly which shares stories on mission happenings around the world. As a result a weekly offering is taken each week. The website which has stories about missions as well as the Mission Quarterly is found at:

http://www.adventistmission.org/

God's church has been commanded to "Go Ye into all the world and teach the gospel." As a result many around the world are truly "going into all the world' sharing the Gosepl and the news of His soon return. Even if we can't go overseas, we can take the message of His Soon Return to all the neighbours right around us, for He is Coming Soon!

Each Sabbath it is so important to be reminded of the mission of this church and what better way than to put a spotlight on missions through the mission story. The weekly mission quarterly/stories are on this website.

I promised to do the Mission Story for Sabbath School at our ASAM Sabbath at the Adventist Church in Mirror and when I looked at the Mission story in the Mission Quarterly just now I discovered that it is about Hobbema here in Alberta. That is really neat because our Alberta SAGE Committee voted today to take on the Mamawi Atosketan Native School as one of their projects. Mamawi Atosketan Native School is for the Children of Hobbema. So I will really, really enjoy telling this mission story. Here is a link to the story:

The pastor of the Adventist Church in Hobema sent me some pictures today that I will put into a PowerPoint Program for presenting the Mission story on December 3, 2011. Neat! I know those watching will really like seeing these pictures. It will make the story much more meaningful!

Not only does this website do the mission quarterly but, they also do the Adventist Mission quarterly DVD that you get shown in Sabbath School every quarter.
I know all about that, because I'm the Sabbath School Director for our conference and we receive the DVDs from Adventist Mission and send them out to our churches at the beginning of every quarter. People really like them!
